Benefits:
Reduce landfill waste: By prolonging the lifespan of items, we help slow the filling of landfills, benefiting the environment.
Support charities: More items available for donation means charities have greater resources to serve those in need.
Less reliance on government funding: Charities may find they need less government support, ultimately benefiting taxpayers.
Potential reduction in crime: Access to basic necessities through charitable organizations may help reduce the incentive for criminal behaviour.
CharityWishList.ca is completely free to use for both donors and charities. It operating as a registered business, but its only source of income is through Google AdSense ads, which helps cover the annual website costs.
Background: The idea for CharityWishList.ca was born out of personal experience. Faced with the challenge of finding charities willing to accept the contents of a deceased relative’s house, we realized the need for a simpler donation process. Since its inception, CharityWishList.ca has evolved, achieving first-page status in Google searches and serving as a vital resource for donors and charities alike. With nearly 20 years of operation, I remain committed to facilitating connections and making a positive impact in our communities.
Mission
CharityWishList.ca®
Making it easier and quicker to give stuff away to Canadian Registered Charities near you.
To enable people across Canada to quickly and easily find, and self-connect, to a variety of Canadian Registered Charities near them that have WishLists containing the type of item(s) that the person in that moment wants to give away, to the benefit of our society and environment.
Vision
To maintain and grow www.CharityWishList.ca so that more cities and Canadian Registered Charities in Canada are included.
Why CharityWishList.ca?
Donating items to charity should be easy and rewarding, yet too often, the process is cumbersome and time-consuming. Items that could still be of great use end up in landfills simply because finding a charity interested in them is a challenge.
CharityWishList.ca streamlines this process, making it simple and swift to connect donors with charities that are eager to receive their donations. By eliminating the barriers to donation, we ensure that items find new homes where they are needed, rather than being discarded.
